Father’s Day!

suburbeonon June 19th, 2010No Comments

I am enjoying a great Father’s Day. My wife prepared an enormous omelett worthy of the show “Man vs. Food”. Needless to say I devoured it. I got a hand-made card from my sons and then watched some FIFA World Cup soccer. After this activity, I took a nap. What a great day. We then rode to our local cafe to chill out and this is where I am writing this post.

I hope my legacy as a father is to be someone who has been a good friend, great husband and father to my kids and grandchildren. I am working on this as time goes on.

Who has been your father figures? Mentors? or people you have looked up to in life and business?

This man defines sacrifice

Sunday morning…

suburbeonon March 28th, 2010No Comments

Everyone needs time off. Just a day to do nothing… or at least something that is not work-related. This is a busy, activity filled world we live in. We are wired and wireless, connected 24/7 to our jobs and careers, some of us even work while enjoying our mocha. Do you find the time to wind down? Unplug the mobile device?

March Madness is here… and I am watching it online

suburbeonon March 18th, 2010No Comments

I confess to all my clients and colleagues that I have the first game of the first round live on my Mac. It is in “HD” but the amazing thing is that now you don’t have to sneak out to a bar or the lobby to watch the games with the guard. This is definitely a distraction in March for all the bosses out there.

CBS Sports even provides you a “Boss Button” to press to have a fake spreadsheet pop up when Mr. Jones asks for the TPI reports.

I am working though as the BYU Cougars and the Florida Gators face off.

Are you a bracketeer? I am not, but it’s fun and with all the work I have to do these days, a little distraction is not so bad….

How is your personal economy holding up?

suburbeonon March 6th, 2010No Comments

The state is a mess. The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt. Our healthcare system is driving millions more into debt and adding crushing pressures to our already over-worked healthcare providers.

How is your own economic conditions holding up? Are you sacrificing a bit more? Eating out less?

It seems that our legislators are screwing things up, but at least we can have some control over own own personal economic conditions.

iPad is launched… are you getting one?

suburbeonon January 28th, 2010No Comments

Will you get one this spring? It looks fantastic. It’s like something from the scifi movies we all watched where all information was on one device. I really like the book reader feature. What is the future of the KIndle and other book readers on the market? Are they scared? I would be if I were Amazon or Sony.

The iPad has once again elevated a new segment of personal computing. There are other slate/tablet computers out there, but none have the attention of the iPad. I mean really…. HP has one, Lenovo, and others, but the are not as cool or as friendly as the iPad.

I have owned Macs since college, an iPod and a an iPhone, so I am biased, but damn…. the iPad is f!#kin’ cool. Check out www.apple.com.

Keep the Kings in Sacramento at a new and improved Arco Arena

suburbeonon December 30th, 2009No Comments

This plan is the most cost efficient idea of all of the plans for the Kings and the NBA. Simply put, the access to the arena is in place. With some minimal work for additional traffic, the current site and adjacent land is ready for development. The arena can be renovated to bring it up to be one of modern sports ad entertainment facilities. Additional retail and entertainment venues can be built out as well because the land is empty and ready to go.

No need to remove toxic waste, built billions of dollars of new infrastructure! North Natomas is ready to start work on this new arena and sports and entertainment complex.

Go to: http://www.sacramentofirst.org/ and vote for North Natomas in the pol to the right.

An Open Letter to My Clients and Colleagues

Client News!, suburbeonon December 21st, 20093 Comments

The last days of 2009 are upon us and we are all preparing to close a wild and crazy twelve months. The global economy, plummeting real estate values, Friday furloughs and job losses weighed heavily on us all. Everyone I know has been effected by these negative factors.

However, those same people I know have continued to work hard, work smart, cut down waste and inefficiencies, and hunker down and tough it out.

That is why I want to thank all my clients for the sticking with me and my colleagues through these tough times. Your dedication to your businesses is a testament to what will keep our economy going strong. There were times during the year when I felt the pinch of a slow economy squeeze me and my family, but then a call or email would come in with a request from one of you.

I will continue to wok hard for all my clients and work hard to continue to bring value to our partnerships.

I appreciate all of the effort and work we have accomplished together and I look forward to a more prosperous new year.

I wish all of you hope, peace and prosperity in the new year and many more to come.

Sincerely,

Chris Tandoc
